I never got into Spotify. But from what I've heard from people, the mobile spotify app sucked.
The Google app lets you pin individual songs, albums, or playlists. Or just add them to your collection instead of always having to word search for specific albums and such.
Spotify mobile app is piff. Thats the only thing i use.
I do like the idea of putting stuff in my collection, but with Spotify I can actually download the music I want and have it for offline playback.
THat's what pining the songs does in Google Music. Lets you play the songs offline.
Tested and works perfectly. Just searched for Schoolboy Q's Yay Yay, pinned it to my phone, let it download, put my phone in airplane mode and let it play.

I went ahead and signed up for the Play Music subscription service but I don't know if its even necessary considering how big my own library of songs is. Adding the radio feature to it may just be overkill. We'll see I guess....
