I've been listening to Arcade Fire nonstop for the past few days, gave it the headphone and whip tests, I actually really like it.

At first I was a bit reluctant because of the song lengths, not too many artists can pull off an album with the majority of songs over 6 minutes, and I sorta compare it in terms with The Suburbs which I thought was way too fukking long.

These songs on the other hand are interesting enough for me to keep listening to them for the whole duration.

My favorite tracks are Porno, Here Comes The Night Time, Normal Person, Afterlife.

AOTY? Not at the moment, I'd have to gauge that in December tbh

I haven't warmed up to it yet but I haven't given it the all important headphone spin so I can't even judge it yet

I don't want to throw it on the headphones yet because the rip I have seems to be poorly mastered???? Is it just me or are the song volumes not even? First track is way low compared to some of the others.

I have to give it another shot soon after seeing the 9.2 that pitchfork gave it, I might not always agree with their reviews but generally if they give something over a 9 it is pretty much guaranteed to be a great album. My first impression of the album was in the 6-7 range, so we will see what multiple spins will do

The Suburbs on the other hand I loved immediately and didn't put it down for a month, same with Neon Bible. Never really cared for Funeral that much.

Yeah, there was the initial leak which was really low and bad quality, and then the 320 came out, but that sounds a little suspect to me as well.

I think I might just bite the bullet and cop it, it's good enough to justify the money for me :manny:

Tried both those leaks.....as you mentioned the first one was poor, and the 320 wasnt true......the grouprip made such a huge difference. I dig it a lot more then The Suburbs of initial listen.
