ok maybe a reach. i got it from @Adam3000 tho. i liked the comparison.
the

The comparison makes sense in terms of the shift to electronic focus, the mood (although The Terror is much darker themed), and the potential for divisiveness.

Kid A had a huge impact and has become universally admired which The Terror never will, but I still have it as my #1 album of the year so far.

Listening to this Savages now...really digging it but thought the singer was lacking a little power, sounding like Geddy Lee minus the confidence. Then I realized it is a woman and I feel like an idiot. I 'get' the voice a little more now:lolbron:

Since it got buried at the end of the last page, I just want to post again how sick this Colin Stetson "New History Warfare Vol. 3" album is.

For those that don't know...you may recognize Colin Stetson as the bass saxophone player from Bon Iver. He has also toured with Arcade Fire. He is an avant-garde musician and the technical nature of his music is seriously on some:mindblown: shyt

Some of his songs sound like a full band is playing with multiple layers of percussion and instrumentation, but all his shyt was done in one take with NO OVERDUBS...just him, his saxophone, and a lot of clever microphone placement. He uses a technique called circular breathing that makes it so he can play constant notes without ever having to stop and take a breath.

Justin Vernon of Bon Iver does provide vocals for 4 songs on the album, but other than that it is just a saxophone. Check out this video of dude breaking down how he records his songs....shyt just has me like :dwillhuh: how in the fukk?

And here is him performing the song "Part Of Me Apart Of You" from his new album (title in the Youtube video is wrong)

And here is a standout track from his new album.

This album may have joined Flaming Lips and Youth Lagoon's joints in my top albums of the year

I just discovered Imagine Dragons. These guys are pretty good.

Also, they're from my home town, which explains why their song keeps coming on the radio out here.
