Wlad with another big stadium fight. It’s happened overseas, but it’s REALLY slept on the scale of this dude’s career. Three fights at the 50,000 seat Espirit Arena, a fight at the 35k seat Stade de Suisse, Haye fight was at the 60k Intech, and now about to do WrestleMania numbers at Wembley. What a career, man. :wow:

Has any fighter ever done numbers like Wlad at the box office?

Despite the attendance numbers...the amount of money them fights generated at the gate was a fraction of what Mayweather & Pacquiao was doing in 16-17k seat arenas.

Sven Ottke, Dariusz M & Henry Maske used to do big attendance #'s in Germany too.

Benn, Eubank & Bruno used to do similar #'s in the UK

Notice how when he went to Russia to fight Povetkin only like 13k people showed. :patrice:

I think being able to easily fill up stadiums is just Western European sporting culture....they fill up stadiums to the max for NFL games too.

because they charge less maybe? what if they charged the same though as may.....:wow:

I believe may-pac in 2009 could have filled up a 50,000 stadium or if wilder and josh become rivals they could do it too.:patrice:

I remember reading somewhere that the avg. price for Klitschko tickets were around $30-40. Which explains why they're so easily able to fill up stadiums/arenas.

I believe may-pac in 2009 could have filled up a 50,000 stadium

They coulda filled up LA Coliseum or Cowboys Stadium (80-90k+) easily anytime between 2009-2015. Not at MGM pricing. But if they had've cut avg ticket prices to just around 10-15% they still would've filled it to capacity.

Canelo just did 50k+ @ Cowboys stadium with a no name European.

or if wilder and josh become rivals they could do it too.:patrice:

In the UK they would sell out Wembley...in the US? :usure:

It'll sell out the MGM or Barclays...but i don't envision any scenario where they're able to do anywhere near 50k in the US...maybe 20-25k in Alabama.

I guess boxing aint that big in us then cause I would try to fight in 50,000+ stadium for all my big ppv fights if was a major draw.:manny:

Smaller venue = bigger price per ticket

Vlad ain't touching Floyd in PPV sales so that's not true....

Black brits run boxing we taking over baby.

Relax "bruv" ...

Mostly UK really... Drake sold 120,000 tickets in less than 15 mins there

Both The Daily Star and The Mirror have pegged the gross revenue to be £42 million (approximately $53 million US), which would leave the previous record, the 2014 rematch between Carl Froch and George Groves, in the dust at £22 million. A lower estimate from The Daily Telegraph’s Gareth A. Davies has it at £30 million (Approx. $38 million US), with Joshua and Klitschko splitting £18 million in purse money

Here’s The Mirror’s breakdown of the figures that would lead to a £42 million fight:

1.5 million pay-per-views at £16.95, generating £25.4m
£4m from German TV company RTL (Editor’s note: RTL is Klitschko’s television partner)
£1.5m from US TV (Editor’s note: The bout will air on either HBO or Showtime, but not on PPV in the US)
£8m in gate receipts from a record 90,000 crowd
£1m from sponsorship
£1m from rest of the world TV rights
£1m from merchandising

Joshua vs. Klitschko expected to be richest fight in British boxing history

Hope Joshua finally retires Vladimir who has had a hold on the Heavyweight scene for a long time now.
