Offensive line play is partly the issue with diminishing QB play & devaluing of RB's in the NFL

You can't keep giving these huge contracts to one player when there are too many parts the team depends on to win. This ain't hoops. Colts have too many holes up front and on defense and it's gonna be worse when the hat extension kicks in. You gotta find real good guys for cheap and draft well. A lot of these teams suck at personnel acquisitions bar none but use the coach as the excuse when it's the GM
Are u blaming Andrew Luck's contract for the Colts shytty oline :what:

Offensive Line and cornerback play are terrible in the NFL now.. The new CBA the players ratified shortened the practices which hurts the amount of time these o-lines have to gel together. Offensive lines have to gel and be in cohesion as they are one essentially..

But yeah the defensive lineman look way more athletic and powerful then offensive lineman in today's game no question.

Church.

They do need to implement something to where you can keep the guys you drafted.
Say what you want but I do like the NBA Bird rights (even though they need to stay with the original team that you started with and not transfer). Don't make a supposed luxury tax so bad that it would cripple a Bird rights system as well.

Keep guys they drafted they don't own these players.
Stop trying to take their freedom from them.

A lot of reasons why. The lack of practice is one. Another is line play, the king of offended that are run and better defenses.

They got rid of the FB man. FB used to buy the QB some extra time back there. Also, qbs aren't playing under centre anymore. They're mostly in the gun and that throws off timing and hurts mechanics imo. Just a lot of factors.

If they want to leave, they can. My point is that because of the cap and shyt, teams can't pay players who may want to stay which kills the nucleus of a team if they have a lot of good players.

I got you, you are arguing more for a soft cap in the NFL with a luxury tax so teams can spend more if they want.

Spread offenses have ruined the way o-linemen are now coached.

They're no longer drive blockers or linemen that know how to cover an area. The end result is having lineman coming into the league unprepared. If i'm a scout, I'd only look for linemen who came out of a pro style college offense.

Either way, the NFL needs a developmental league in the worst way. The chasm between the NFL and college ball seems to be growing in certain areas.

Definitely gonna get worse with these types of offenses becoming standard in college. It's not a college coaches job to prepare cats for NFL Success. They gotta worry about their own win/loss records.

I'd rather not the luxury tax period, but I say soft cap because you know other owners are gonna cry if a team actually has a competent front office who drafts good and takes advantage of keeping their own talent with that kind of system. They'll want to "penalize" the others who do well since their own front offices might be full of imcompetent clowns.

Not entirely. Point is that it's going to get worse before it gets better because of the contract.
They sucked b4 he signed that contract. Talent evaluation and these owners wanting people they cam control is the issue. This isnt a Seahawks situation where they paid their defense instead of the oline. The colts have horrible management.

1) Traded a 1 for Trent Richardson
2)Drafted Bjorn Werner to play OLB when he was a down Lineman in college amd was relatively new to football.
3)Drafted Phillip Dorsett 1st rnd when TY Hilton was given a huge contract.
4)Paid Anthony Costanzo LT money when he sux and is more suited for RT
5)Paid Old Andre Johnson 7mil
6)neglected the pass rush and LBs.
7)retard at coach
8)Gave big contract to injury prone te.

None of this is becuz of Andrew Luck's contract. All of it happened prior to. Good organizations(Broncos) can pay a qb and the rest of the team. These front offices are trash and owners are trying to be Jerry Jones now days instead of jist layin low and playing the background like Robert Kraft, Rooneys etc

Kinda my point too doggie. They front office is incompetent and now with Luck's extension kicking in, they really are gonna have be good in evaluating talent and signing free agency help for him on the o-line and defense. They botched it during his rookie deal and now they don't have that luxury anymore of him being "cheap" against the cap

U have to be smart amd have the ballz to play young guys. To use the colts as an example. Their oline will suck rather Anthony Costanzo is at LT or not. So what justifies paying him 15mil/yr. Smarter organizations recognize this and will play an unproven, yet talented and cheap olineman in front of a HofF qb instead of overpaying some vet bum.

Same goes for WR. U cannot use a 1st rnd pick on a diminutive wr like Dorsett when u have so many holes. Chester Rogers is from Grambling, undrafted and is a better wr than Dorsett in the current system. I should be a GM :damn:

Incompetent Front Office breh. Now Luck gonna be fukked during his prime because of this. Grigson and Pagano both should have gotten the bushes last season. Colts are fukked until both of them are gone
