I feel the cop was justified.

If they would have beat him unconscious, who's to say they wouldn't have found his gun and used it on him?

I can understand the father getting upset, I would have too, but first I would have checked on the condition of my daughter. If she was unconscious and looked like she was dying I would have went ham. But apparently she only got bruises.

I can only speak for myself as a parent.

If I saw my son hurt by someone else hand(or bike), MY first instinct is to attack. Then go get my baby and dip. I can understand the fathers reaction.
