I like where your head is at OP, because Back to the Future is a dope trilogy...

...but I gotta say no to a reboot. Trying to bring the series back in the middle of this era we're currently in just wouldn't work out IMO.

I don't trust Hollywood to get Back to the Future right after seeing what they did to Star Wars


Making a legit reboot might be the perfect opportunity to ether both sides of this culture war lowkey.
Biff in that second movie was already Donald Trump before Donald Trump--imagine how they'd deal with things traveling to the current era.
Picture Doc and Marty traveling to the 2010s just to get the cops called on them by Becky Tannen

I watched BTTF 1 and 2 just last weekend.

My first time really watching in years as an old man. Seen all of them in theaters as kids and watched many times growing up but probably haven’t seen in atleast a decade from start to finish.

It’s crazy how much went over my head back then due to just loving the spectacle of it

I think the story could work, but just call it something else. I think a lot of there have been a lot of decent retreads of 80s movies that would have been ok, if they had been called something else. But you wanna use the name for easy clout, you get to put up with people comparing it the probably superior original.

No, not at all. But if something is seen as nearly perfect, there is no need to “remake” it IMO. Think its Bob Gale who has it in writing (being the owner of the series) that it can not ever actually be remade, or a sequel can not be done.

it is in its own right. It's a fun western adventure with some sci-fi and love story. It's Doc's story. It's probably still the least favorite in the GOATrilogy but it's a good movie and I've grown to appreciate it as I've gotten older.

As a kid two was my fav Behind the first (still my fav movie of all time) but as an adult i really enjoy 3...partly because i got into westerns later in life and I love that it really is about Doc. Plus you could really tell Tom Wilson was having a great time playing Mad Dog.

BTTF doesn't need a remake/reboot. A time travel movie can be done by using the blueprint BTTF set. Just switch up the characters, story, etc.
