It wasn't. This thread is either total revisionist or like I said prior, dudes was just young kids newly discovering hip hop in 1999 and just didn't know better. They didn't grow up on Return to the 36... I'm sure when they went back to peep that 1st album, it sounded crazy old school and too unpolished for what their ears were used to.
My nikka people can have their own opinion. Don't flock like a bird bruh.

Exactly, and the younger folks who were well under 18 in 1999 are welcome to love this album as it reflects what their hip hop experience was at the time. All I'm saying is, I never knew a single :flabbynsick: breh of age that liked that album. Supreme Clientele came out a few months after and us :flabbynsick: brehs loved it. Compare nikka Please to SC... and tell me that ODB album isn't pure basura in comparison.

I'm not knockin folks for being too young.. but it is the only conclusion I can come to that someone would call it a "classic" with all them cheesy keyboard beats because you youngns at the time would be having your "golden era" during the Swizz Casio era. smh... It's all relative... so don't mind me, nikka.
