I'd say 2007 was the last great year, and every year after has been more misses than hits.For me, Hip-Hop ended sometime in the mid 00s
nikkaz saw the title and just started naming madd Jay and Nas songs lol.
I never listened to Jay-Z but I love the doe was a good song.

I think there are some songs that I personally feel have some off-putting elements that I know other people dont like or might not like if they hear it, but I still like those records and think they're good songs.
Nas - who killed it for example, or Dr. Knockboot..I get why people don't like em, but I do..same when Jarreu of rap came out, nikkas acted like it was audo acid, I love it.
Jay Z - I know what girls like...again, I get why it gets panned, but I never NOT liked that song lol
Using Em as an example, maybe the best one I can think of is Stronger Than I was
Aside from the grunting, the singing on this reminds me of Peter Cetera lol
And the fact that it seems to be a response to "Kim" from the woman in question's perspective. Some objectively bad elements from an otherwise cool/thoughtful record.

This has to be a top 5 most hated Nas song of all time, but I always vibed with it since day one. Salaam beat is unapologetically non-formulaic, the weed carriers sound threatening and Nas is Nas. You got a House In Virginia
No need for the gunplay

I find Salaam Remi's work with Nas in general to be underrated. That man crafted a diamond album.
