Hip-hop is not a monolith, more rappers support Obama than not.

Lupe Fiasco is a clown, I like his music but few hip-hopper have political opinions i respect one way for another. Dare to be different ass n1ggas.

it is really important to me to know how chief keef feels about obama

Can't wait to hear what Lil Dap and Melaki the Nutcracker have to say about the fiscal cliff deal.

I wonder about 2 Chainz opinions on Nuclear proliferation and the rise of the Eastern Hegemony.

I wanna know what Meek Mill thinks we should do about climate change.

Correct me if I'm misunderstanding the purpose of the above sarcasm...

But it seems like yall are saying that most rappers are too ignorant and uninformed to be critical of the president or have any valid opinions on politics..

Perhaps..

But I don't remember anyone having a problem when the same ignorant and uninformed rappers were part of his pep squad in '08, while telling everyone to blindly support him...

I support informed opinions on both sides of the spectrum. I respect what Killer Mike had to say for and against the President, I supported what Mos Def had to say about the Bush administration years back, I support what Paris said about the Bush and Clinton administrations (things that he said to the detriment of his career at the time) those were informed and well thought out, those were people who did their homework. What I don't support are thinly veiled attempts at political discourse by people who probably wouldn't pass a 4th grade civics class. I even said I had no problem with Lupe not liking Obama, but that not only were his reason's wrong but that he's perpetuating the very things he has a problem with through his lack of proper information and his insistence on putting himself on TV (particularly Fox News) while being laughed at behind closed doors by conservative talking heads. I have way more respect for Immortal Technique who posed many of the very same criticisms almost 5 years prior while acknowledging that the bigger problem is the system to some extent, an uninformed populace and a strange obsession by our politicians to not rock the boat.

we're just not taking the article seriously because it is wrong. and then we listed rappers who probably have no political thoughts in their heads, hence making the whole thing even more absurd just for the fun of it.

i think the writer of the article is silly and has a poor understanding of hip. dead prez and pitbull are both hip hop, and i dont expect them to have the same political opinions. there is no way obama had a honeymoon with a diverse entity. that would be like saying mitt romney had a honeymoon with rock n roll because kid rock was supporting him. tom morello is also a rocker and he certainly does not support romney.
