executive order on single payer on deck :myman:
its electioneering :whew:
same guy that tried to executive order immigration laws while campaigning :troll:

Pipe dream..Public option is better in this economy but as we can see the Health Insurance industrial complex will have none of it if it means mass losses in profits..and since Obamacare has already been ruled as a giant tax by the supreme court, it definitely aint happening

You can't use an executive order to institute a single-payer system. That's not how it works. Stuff like that has to go through congress (they control the funds).

Only good things about ACA are that insurance companies can't deny you for pre-existings like before and Medicaid expansion
and that only good thing as you see it is the reason stories like this appear. eliminate sick people having the freedom to take their sick ass to another insurer no questions asked and the insurers won't complain about the costs of being in the marketplace.

The entire house of cards for the AFA is falling. You have too many people getting no cost/low cost who are using it for everything they can while the healthy can not afford the premiums.

Saw this comment on the Reich post:

Let's just say that I work for a large (giant) insurance brokerage. If I did, I could tell you that by 2020, corporations plan to completely divest from employer-sponsored health insurance. This all happening while insurers are divesting from Obamacare. It's as if the whole industry is actually INSISTING that the gov't take this over.

Medicare...For....All!

:Lyesss:Government cant even run medicare/medicaid efficiently and without losses, what makes you think they can run a single payer system accounting for over 330 million people? what will likely happen is that the giant insurers will divest themselves from obamacare and then smaller private companies will emerge to fill the void once all of the insurers pull out of the exchanges..Giant insurance corporations will never give up guaranteed revenue from employers..what will happen is what they always do, raise premiums and lobby the politicians to create loopholes to further their profits.

Why would they give up their monopoly? The big insurance companies are trying to merge with others and smaller ones.

If its not profitable they will divest which is what i understood that comment you posted to mean..If they divest then smaller companies will emerge, not government taking over to fill the void.

The ACA is just a foot in the door to single payer. There was never any way an insurance company would be able to remain solvent when all these sick people who could never get coverage before all of a sudden jumped on plans and ran the bills through the roof while at the same time not drastically increasing the premiums on healthy people.
