How is this an excuse for right now? People chose between signing up and paying the small fine this year. If it was about the fine like you said, any rational person would take the small hit this year and sign up when the penalties become more severe later on down the road. Your argument doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

The costs incurred by uninsured people get passed down to everyone else. This drives up health care costs for everyone that is paying for it.

I hate neo-cons. The poster said free rider problem as to why people are getting fined for not joining, and because it drives up costs for other people. And i said then similar effects as welfare in terms of people not signing up/people on welfare. I already stated i dont know enoigh about the policy itself amd am not opposed to welfare..i just dont see why people should be fined if they dont do it, and also, how a vast majority of people are okay with these fines because it drives up the cost for everyone else if they dont sign up, but a good portion of the same people are ardently in favor of higher minimum wages etc even though that would also drive up costs (different type of costs). I mean i see why on moral and social grounds but*ts a contradictory in economic principle. Let me re-iterate, im not pro or against obamacare..i see the positives and negatives. My only pure stance is i dont like a fine on people choosing something else. Ill use my example again...should i be fined for not getting a flu shot?
