I think it's a mix of things, particularly when you break it down by age. Romney won a larger margin of those who are both college educated, and making 50k or above which Asians disproportionately represent. So I'm not so sure the "gift' argument would have sufficed in this case. I'd be interested in seeing the age demographic that voted Democrat on this one though. My guess is that the 27% or so that did vote for Romney are probably from the older generation, while the youth may have make a disproportionate number of their population and identified more with Obama. I'd also be interested in seeing what their voter turnout numbers were in proportion to their population. Without looking at the data, my guess is that the age demographic may be heavily skewed to show those who came out and actually voted, are probably 50 and younger.

Regardless where you stood on the issues though, I think Obama still had the universal "Joe cool" factor as well. I think I've mentioned it before, but I the only person who could have beaten Obama in a popularity contest was Justin Beiber or the Beatles.

I have yet to see a republican mention the asian vote, because their entire argument would crumble. Asian Americans are now the most affluent ethnic group in the united states yet they voted heavily democratic, someone conservative on this forum explain that to me??
