Everything the man said was true. People can hand wring and complain all they want, but every point he made would get 100+ daps if someone posted it here. His argument and logic are exactly what a lot of us have been saying over the last few days.
This isn't just about Freddie Gray or any other person who died at the hand of police. This is about generational poverty and socioeconomic barriers that have doomed millions of people. If you had no hope, no job opportunities, no education, no parents, no curiosity, no nothing...there's no telling what you might do to survive and provide for yourself or your family. And if you were being terrorized on a daily basis by police or drug dealers...what would your mindset be like? It would not be peaceful. It would be damaged, and angry, and justifiably so. I'll never cosign burning down your own fukking neighborhood, but only a fool would not understand that riots are the voice of the voiceless.
Yes, a lot of the people who participated in looting were not from the community - they were agitators looking for an excuse to steal something. I've seen twitter posts of people who stole TVs. i've already listened, but i'm asking you what's his solution? he broke down the problems nicely, but i didn't hear him suggest anything outside of prison reform.
