Oakley flagrant foul on Rodman is it any different than todays game?

Call any different than today’s game?

Lebron got elbowed by Thaddeus Young and was bleeding, no call.

Yeah but thats lebron. Ever since the decision the league really doesn't protect him like they once did. It also plays into the thirst that some fans have to see lebron get harmed on the court. Never forget that knicks game when fans celebrated when he was undercut and almost blew his knee out in madison garden as a heat player.

It reminds me how when Vick got out of jail and was playing for the eagles. You would see him take horrible illegal hits out of bounds or being speared. And the refs would ignore it. IMO they were giving a lot of fans exactly what they wanted. Cause there were fans who were going to games and watching games to see Vick get hurt.

As for that oakley hit if that happened today all the racist idiot talking heads and they black bootlickers would be using code words on how its bad for the game and thugery (unless it happened to a black athlete who they think is uppity and doesn't know his place. Then it would be mistakes happen move on).

Also the shyt would be played on replay 24/7 on ESPIN and FOX1. Whitlock would say that it happened because of single black mothers and bootlickers would say it was because of toxic masculinity.

I think you are missing the point about the 2 teams that are playing and situation

this is like Boogie/Draymond

they would be tossed immediately in todays game

nobody at any year is gonna let 2 dudes who fight day and night initiate a fight :russ:
Exactly. Yall forget that refs call shyt based on how the game is going and who involved. They often call technicals just to calm a game down.

What Dennis did was actually way more flagrant. They wouldn't even review that today.

I recall one incident remotely close to a fight for Draymond. Don't recall any for Boogie. Feel free to correct me. nikkas woof with the best of them though :ehh:. Rodman wasn't a fighter either. He was an irritant that made other nikkas wanna fight.

yeah but they dont let cats just provoke fights all game .... difference between shyt talk/rodmans getting under your skin style and acting nonchalant about it/and dudes saying "I'm gonna knock you the fukk out" :russ:

refs arent gonna let Bill Lambier style players just walk around cheap shotting people in todays game.... back then they let you get a few off. I love Boogie, you can easily see him basically trying to start some physical shyt with every team in the NBA on youtube

Knicks fought, Pistons fought... they arent gonna let shyt get wild... Lambier threw a cheap shot at like 40 seconds in that video, shyt was already getting out of control all over the court. I love playing dirty and all that violent shyt, I think it adds to the game.... but they arent gonna let you just immediately reach the tipping point. That's why like I said dudes like Draymond and Cousins built a rep... they just get tossed immediately. At least back in the day you had a chance to scrap a little first. You cant even dunk on someone properly anymore... you gotta play like you're Barry Sanders or some shyt. The difference in situation would be the Artest VS Kobe shyt.... Artest is trying to provoke a fight... Kobe is staying calm saying "you're a fukking bum" you can get away with the Kobe trash talk... but they arent gonna let you provoke a fight and shyt. Most of Cousins shyt is like "I'm gonna see you after the game, I'm gonna whoop the shyt out of you" :mjlol: you're gonna lose control of the game real quick if you got 2-3 dudes out there who feel the same way. If Isiah Thomas is playing dirty... you can best believe Rodman, Laimbeer etc are all gonna join that energy. You'd have Malice in the palace 2.0 if you let the Knicks fight Pistons freely. Charlotte Hornets come to mind too, you dont want Zo and Larry Johnson to get into fight mode out there. Now if you look at Barkley Suns or Utah... them cats aint gonna fight like that... maybe Malone or Barkley but the team aint gonna start throwing hands like that. Even Jordan Bulls werent about that life completely.... maybe Horace Grant but them other cats aint gonna fight. You would need tear gas to stop Knicks and Pistons

Malice in the Palace is a perfect example
Jermaine O'neal, Artest, Stephen Jackson... who's gonna stop that? obviously nobody :russ: you cant let that get out of control. Gotta get Ben Wallace and Artest out of there quick...just for the sake of reality.

that was just a bad accident...the irony is lebron so damn strong that thaddeus the one who went flying but that damn sure wasn’t an “elbow” as in thaddeus threw an elbow at him...LBJ was going full steam and ran into his arm/elbow which was straight up in the air

It’s a lot going in on that play but one of the most glaring was it’s seemed like Oak didn’t want that smoke with Rodman.

it was a lot of body and follow through by Oak, how Rodman stayed in his feet idk

The only difference is that without any context that would be called a flagrant today. That was called because the refs saw shyt brewing already.

But the while tougher in the 90s point is ridiculous. If they didn't call flagrants so easily, you would have more tough fouls. But also, you need to have more skills to be out on the floor in today's NBA, can't just be a goon or youre useless.

If these happened in the 1990s they would be pushed constantly as "proof" the game was so much more physical back then.....too bad they happened in the 2010s.
