Wait 20 years for all the generals from the revolution to die off until your mulatto sons can take power.

The African generals waited 20 years for France to show up and fight... but France never came back until all the generals died.

Haitians built an entire military fortress in anticipation for the second revolutionary war but France never came until after Toussaint, Dessalines, and Christophe was all dead.
