my grandmother went to school everyday as a little girl with money to pay reparations to French slave-holders

She is 95 now.

Her grandparents were children of the revolution.

The hate I have for France is unimaginable.

After France was driven out of Haiti, they went to West Africa to pillage and colonize our ancestral homelands.

The French man sees the African man as his enemy, and he has remained consistent.

Yea, my ex is Haitian. And she would always talk about this type of stuff. How Haiti had to basically pay France reparations but it never made sense to me. "How is that even legal/enforceable?", I'd think and brush off. Or how the U.S. decimated Haitian rice famers. It wasn't until the earthquake that I started doing my own digging and got a better understanding of what had gone down. It's insane.
