I think that if you can make it real to a mainstream audience, Rethugs will eventually have to relent. TBH there have already been many damaging stories that have come out about Trump, but I'd argue that this story is the first one that actually could damage re-election chances for a lot of Congressmen.

If this is on the cover of Time, it's going to be harder and harder for the average Joe to continue to dismiss this as "fake news". Cable news is easy to dismiss, but this is pretty significant.

Here's the thing, the average joe in America IS racist and DOES approve of everything Donald Trump does. They just don't want to LOOK like it.

They don't care about whether news is fake or real, just whether it confirms their biases.
