This is why I don't do communal hot tubs.
My cousins made fun of me because I wouldn't get in the hot tubs at the cabin we stayed at when we went to the mountains. No telling how long the waters been in there or how often they drain and clean it. They were on the 2nd and l 3rd levels of the cabin so, I couldn't see these people cleaning these things more that once a year.
I was like " I'm good, my tub at home in my bathroom has jets"
