the average home in that type of neighborhood in Queens is anywhere from 2500 to 5000 sq ft average, and there's houses with at least 3 or 4 levels - it's not outside of reason that you can be in the basement and not hear sounds all the way upstairs. It's a matter of height not the width, along with the high staircases as well and some of those houses are modernized with intercoms. Those houses have a lot of structural integrity, it's not like suburban mcmansions where the walls are literally like paper thin. our family house in queens was in that type of neighborhood.
and if the killer stabbed her in the neck or any part of the throat, severed her vocal cords. punctured any of her vital organs in the chest or stomach -she wouldn't be screaming and there wouldn't be a lot of moving around. Her body would have went into shock or rendered her unable to move. This isn't the movies where people sustained knife attacks and are moving around all wild dramatic for 10 minutes before they succumb to their injuries.

Which showcased they were lying. Plus had killed their mom with originally a blunt object and slashing. In this instance those twins dragged and tried to stage a killing while they left for school. With the two twins. They could not manipulate the body and it was both of them. Plus they were considerably older by a couple of years or so.
So a lone 13 year old.

Whatever happened it was personal. I can see how the son may not have heard anything. She was in the basement. It was also in the very early hours of the morning. He could be a very deep sleeper or even had on headphones. With the amount of stabs, there would be a lot of blood, and would he be smart enough to clean everything? I don't know. Anything is possible. I do think that it was someone she was familiar with. They say she went out on a date with a man, but who knows what kind of lifestyle they had as a married couple. Also, that video of her body being pulled along in that bag, it doesn't appear to be a full grown man. So I can see how some will conclude that it was the 13 year old son. But it can also be a woman.

. that's the purpose of a hitman- clean and efficient. that wasn't moving strategic at all. and if it was a cartel or mob hit, they wouldn't be carrying out a hit in someone's house especially on a block like that and definitely not with a knife. unless it's one of those inexperienced craigslist contract killer for a day, "give me $2000 to make your problem go away; hook me up another $1,000 to do the job correctly" made for tv moves.
