The entire reason I picked the Knicks in this series (and also bet on them 💰) is the Cavs are entirely dependent on Garland & Mitchell for their offense. They basically have to generate EVERYTHING.
Their bench stinks and their other 2 main players in Mobley and Allen basically have zero offensive game.
Mobley especially gets hyped up (particularly by the Ringer guys) as some sort of next Duncan or Garnett but he's entirely a one way player. He can't shoot, he doesn't really have a dominant post game and he's not beating guys off the dribble creating his own shot either. He has absolutely no bag offensively, him and Allen are basically the same player on offense in terms effectiveness.
Also Okoro is basically a back end of the bench wing. You just can't have a wing that bad on offense, the position is too important. Knicks basically ignored him the entire game and left him wide open by about 10 feet on every 3 and he still went 1-5.

Cavs won't go anywhere till they get a competent wing (even a mediocre starting wing will help) and also Mobley needs to start producing his own offense. Until then they'll still be a good regular season team but struggle in the playoffs. Their offense is just too easy to figure out over multiple games.

What’s wrong with Allen, they’ve kind of built their team around this double to triple big man lineup :patrice:

Nothing wrong with him per se but I'm sure the Cavs would prefer a two day wing defender that can give them 20 any given night since Mobley can do what Allen does and more.

The Cavs getting Mitchell was necessary, but I think they hated that they had to give up Markannen to do it. He would've been a HUGE help in this series.
I agree, but it can be argued that Lauri doesn't become Lauri in Cleveland. I'm a chicago fan and Lauri didn't make any kind of difference there

Intangibles are a real thing.

Jalen is cool, strong, and steady. You wouldn't think he could carry a team based on his stature. But this team is his, even when he sits out a game.

RJ may have turned a leaf and matured into a dominator with an edge, over the course of a week. He did not wilt under the pressure. He got mad and performed. Hard to go backwards from here.

Hart: Another asset with intangibles. Rebounding, heart, personality, vocal, tough, active, dependable even when he misses or messes up.

Julius: He needs to let today be a lesson. Play reckless. No problem. Watch how it's done.

I'm not surprised. The Knicks have much more depth than the Cavs. Cleveland is so reliant on Mitchell and Garland to have monster games. Those two are their only guys who can create offense besides the occasional game from Levert.
:heh: and this is the position we would've been left in if we made that trade

Aside from the point, the 3 is the hardest position to find in the NBA. Ironically enough, the Cavs have had a bunch of them that they've always had to trade for Lebron, or Kevin Love, or a Mitchell. (Wiggins, Agbaji, Bennett). Unless Okoro and Mobley develop offensively, the Cavs are going to have to make a move. Mobley and Okoro need a mid-range game bad, Okoro especially. You can't be starting at the 3 in the NBA scoring less than 10 points a game.

It’s hard to roll out two small guards. But EYE was told by another Knicks fan that that shyt was overblown… :sas1:
Bro nikkas don’t know what they’re talking about .

Right now Mobley and Allen are getting slandered instead of the nikka that’s supposed to be the #1 .

…and part of the reason they’re getting slandered is because they gotta scramble all over the damn place trying to help on his fraudulent D :dead:
