Rocky would've dropped another classic :mjcry:

Probably not since Long Live with Yams involvement sucked but hey maybe Rocky's sound would be a bit better now

Pro Era Flatbush Zombies and Underachievers all would probably be bigger because he was amazing at helping with brands. I think the bigger lost was Bobby Smurda he was 69 but a positive force that everybody loved not just a regional artist. He’s the only artist to truly restore the feeling to me.

It wouldn't be much different if at all in the short term. ASAP would be better focused and perhaps would be more relevant; I think Yams understood that Rocky being relevant/important musically helped the entire squad, and he would be on his ass to release shyt more consistently. Imagine where TDE would be if Kendrick just disappeared or stopped making noteworthy music 2-3 years ago. They'd be fukked out of various opportunities (like the label tour that's going on right now).

The bigger thing to me is that we lost a guy who would be one of the dudes running rap in 5-10 years. The people who are going to determine where rap goes are largely the people who have had some type of major impact in the management or A&R game over the last few years, and Yams would be one of them. Brock Korsan (ie Brocky Marciano), Dave Free, Anthony Saleh, Tunji, Coach K...they're going to be the guys with their fingers on the buttons. Yams would have definitely been in that group. And I think the good thing is that most of those dudes are dope in various ways, they're genuine, don't fukk people over, etc. This is not a repeat of the late 80s/90s with business vultures (Steve Stoute, Lyor, Diddy, etc) lining their pockets and fukking over everyone.

It's very important that those guys continue to win and do well because the alternative group of future execs are working at Apple Music and Spotify right now coming up with ways to fukk over artists.

I’m going to check some of these brothers out.

Brock came up A&Ring for Strong Arm Steady and Dilated Peoples. Moved on to managing producers, and had a heavy role in getting tracks to TDE. He's Cardo's manager among others, played a pretty heavy role in the creation of Kendrick's last album, and now has a desk job at Interscope as one of their exec A&Rs.

Dave Free is Kendrick's manager, vice president of TDE, video director, and just taking shyt over left and right.

Anthony Saleh manages Future and Nas, and has been doing some pretty incredible things when it comes to putting Future in the right places/deals/etc to win. Also has turned Nas' career around, business wise.

Tunji is more on the r&b side...he's at RCA, just got promoted. He brought Khalid and SZA to the label. Also has worked with Tiller.

Coach K created Quality Control Music and has Migos, Yachty, and Cardi B. How he got Migos away from those bloodsuckers at 300...who knows lol.

all those dudes are making huge moves.
