We'll see. It's probably a mix of their own fans returning plus a couple hundred thousand NXT fans that were switching back and forth. If both shows keep these numbers and grow then it was a great move, if the numbers for both fall then it was just curiosity.

Optics aren't that good for WWE. This wasn't even a stacked card or anything, and outside of Mania season, WWE was averaging 1.8 for Raw. If AEW keep that momentum or hold steady at > 1.0, WWE might regret the NXT decision.

But they're averaging 2.1 for Smackdown. Also the NXT decision was probably more of a USA network decision, since they weren't going to reup a show average 600k viewers. It wasn't about the card for AEW this was the first time AEW was unopposed, so of course the numbers were going to spike. They should be excited since this is the break they were looking for, but I guarantee you that they'll be paying close attention to next weeks ratings.
