i see where you're going with this but i'm not sure you can compare wrestling to film. wrestling is staging itself as a sport but because the outcomes are predetermined, it's categorized as "sports entertainment." that's a clash of duality. sport is all about competition and when it's staged, it takes away from its actuality.
And a movie is staging itself as real events but the outcomes are also predetermined. This argument is always dumb and this comes from an avid fight fan.

I guess. I was also pointing out with your part about "growing out of it" that it just might not be for you anymore and there's nothing wrong with that.

MMA gives their viewer's promos and video packages then gives a real life fight, so there is a natural progression there.

omg!! ratings are down...
who fukkin' cares?!
pro wrestling reached its' peak and the days of the Attitude Era are over. you will never see numbers like you did back in 1997-2002.

yall do realize that the attitude era wasn't wrestling's peak, right??

the world began long before you came around.

Just seen the ratings for the last week, those are good numbers for AEW, it just shows what I said to be true, they CAN effect it by what they do. A lot of people thought they were on a constant slump that would be impossible to stop, not the case, both companies can go higher or lower ratings wise depending on what they do. AEW was coming off the PPV and had the MJF turn and the Omega vs Moxley match got attention. This helped gain them some extra viewers.

I actually think they could have done the MJF turn better and made it a bigger moment and deal. I haven’t wanted to hear more logic from MJF and even maybe some kind of legit gripe, for example if he had been hurt badly but Cody instead of checking on him continued the match, it just seems a bit weird he’s beating down dudes for him then hates him the next day, yes I get it was acting but the more you can suspend your disbelief the better, so if there was moment could point too I’d prefer that. Like with Macho and Hogan, at least Macho had a reason there could be an issue with Hogan that made sense whether the fan agreed or not.

These numbers are encouraging for them though, however I’m not sure they did enough again the past week to capitalise on that so they may have another drop next week possibly. Every week they should be making feel like must see TV cause you want to see the next part of the story. There’s plenty they are doing well but there’s also room for improvement too.

The Logan Paul vs KSI match would have certainly hurt PPV sales for Full Gear, even myself I watched the next day as I watched the boxing event first live as it’s easier to watch Full Gear next day. Also the demographics, I know plenty of people who aren’t really that up on boxing who knew about that fight and event and were even watching it, so naturally it will hurt them in some way. Young people in particular were caught up on that, will effect numbers.
