It's sounds like they taking the training wheels off of nxt.

It's very telling that there's so many shook voices in this thread.

An established brand like Nxt can't stand on it's own two feet as a brand??? Can't hold up against an unestablished aew:jbhmm:

Very backhanded compliment by wwe to provide 'competition' by placing their third rate brand on the same night as aew.:mjlol:

People are clearly saying this due to possible Vince involvement.

Clearly.

Vince won't be able to keep his hands off NXT with them going to USA and "battling" AEW so I expect him to run the promotion into the ground rather quickly lol

You never know, I mean I would be surprised if HHH is not 100% in charge, but I will say this will show us if wwe style wrestiling is dead or wrestling in general is dead to the mainstream audience. This will prove how many of us so called hardcore fans still exist, for the first time in almost 20 years there will be two shows on at the same time offering a different style of wrestling. AEW doesn’t have star power and
NXT as it currently is doesn’t have star power either, its interesting to see which company gets the most viewers and if those viewership are more than RAW.
I have 0 clue what people are talking about saying the old NXT is dead. The TV is usually average stuff with a solid main event that most people don't bother watching anyway & just tune in for the Takeovers.

Their just expanding the show to 2 hours which they could have & probably should have a while ago considering how many people they got signed at the moment, & probably going to end up with main roster guys showing up from time to time for matches like they did years ago. NXT hasn't been developmental for a good while now so it ain't like that's changing.

The sheer panic about Vince being involved is amazing because nobody even knows what is happening. I doubt Vince is going to be that involved anyway since it would require him flying to Raws on Monday, NXT on Wednesdays, & SmackDown on Fridays all while he's about to start the XFL again at 74 years old.

People keep saying that, but how is NXT not still developmental? Do they not still refer to people showing up to RAW as a “call-up”
Does anyone in NXT make anywhere near what the top guys on raw or Smackdown make?
Do new signees, just appear on raw or smackdown before going to NXT?

NXT is still where you go to develop your skills to fit a wwe style, all the young commentators start there, and I’m sure its the same for refs and other talent, its still developmental

According to Meltzer, USA is paying WWE at least $50m for NXT. This deal turns NXT from a money-losing promotion to a profitable brand all on their own.

SmackDown is apparently getting a 3rd hour of something, but it could be something that goes on FS1 or the network, not a actual 3rd hour on Fox.

Dave also doesn't seem to think Vince is going to be at NXT a lot because of the travel it would take. He doubts HHH will be at SmackDown most of the time. It's almost like they just recently hired Heyman & Bischoff to positions they created just for them to run the ship on those nights because they can't be everywhere every week & this whole NXT on TV thing is why HHH didn't get one of those spots :jbhmm:

Makes sense, Smackdown needs talking smack, they should air a dark Match and have a bunch of different reaction interviews, where the talent can further storylines.

Vince wont be around any show once xfl starts, he put hey man and Eric in place to run the show while he focuses on that and of course HHH will be in charge of NXT.

Jericho and Cody want a war

its so obvious lol
Of course they do, why wouldn’t they?

Why even start a company and not want the whole industry to do well.. A war will bring more attention to both shows, it will bring more press to the wrestling business.. the NBA, MLB nor the NFL really has direct competition, so this will be interesting.

shyt Vince should want a war too, that’s why he made this move. You really think wwe actually put WCW out of business? No WCW put WCW out of business due to bad management and poor decision making, the same thing that happened to ECW and TNA.

If HHH and Regal are allowed to do their thing I think this will be a better show than AEW :yeshrug:

More than likely though Vince hops on board after AEW get's higher ratings and then we'll be watching Roman winning 1 on 4 handicap matches against Undisputed Era

In regards to how NXT airing on the USA Network will change the schedule of the WWE Network, WWE shared the following program note via email:

Following NXT’s growth in popularity, its weekly Wednesday night show will expand its reach and now air LIVE on USA Network at 8/7C starting September 18.
The new two-hour NXT weekly show will also be available on-demand on WWE Network every Thursday night beginning at 8/7C. NXT TakeOver events will continue to stream live exclusively on WWE Network.

Ever since reports began to circulate about the cable TV future of the NXT brand, there were underlying rumors that this would coincide with Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn taking more control over the NXT product.

However, a new report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet suggests that no changes are coming to WWE’s third brand.

The report notes that this move to the USA Network is simply being done to get more eyes onto NXT and that Triple H will be remaining at the helm and NXT should be maintaining the same quality level product that the brand has come to be associated with.
