Roode needs to be on RAW, they wasting his prime years in NXT
Gotta build up his character. Him and Joe are reaching 40, but its wreslting, as long as you look good (no homo) and perform good, you will last long. US title needs more competitors and the IC title as well. Even if Roode or Joe get in the main roster, not confirmed they will be fighting for the world titles.
It's been proven over and over again that building up character on NXT is meaningless because you have to do it AGAIN on the main roster. Vast majority of WWE viewers are not watching NXT and don't have a clue who he is.
Not only building character but to test out if the fans still give a fukk about you. AJ Styles didn't need to go to NXT because he always already a massive star. Joe you could say the same but you know Vince don't like flabby guys. General audience will mimic whatever the marks are doing at NXT. If they fukk with a wrestler on NXT, it will most likely stick on the main roster, but not always (Ascension/Vaud Villians).
Most NXT call ups been flops
As only a casual fan, I see this happening with most of the younger NXT acts

Roode, Aries, Joe, Nakamura and Asuka have no business being in NXT. They're just there because that was the norm for any outside guy coming to the WWE for years. AJ styles proved how unnecessary that was (and in lesser extent so did Gallows and Anderson, regardless of how you think they're being booked) and Joe, Nakamura and Asuka hogging up main event space in NXT is killing the developmental talent.
