In its own way, Gargano and Ciampa having a superkick battle on top of a semi with a crane cam floating around was as over the top if not more so than anything in the Boneyard match
I wouldn't mind them trying that style on a more regular basis with a crowd. There's that one UK indie that pretty much shoots all their shyt just like that. I'm sure it's a nightmare to edit, though. Of the 3 cinematic matches, this one definitely felt like something that was all done at once instead of shot over a whole night or multiple days. Like, that would probably have pretty much been the match they would have had in front of a crowd I think.
at the swerve. So stupid. And sucked from story and character stand point. It would have been way better for the whole thing having gone so far that it broke up marriages and both men realizing the monsters they've become and having some kind of if not make up at least understanding that they can't continue this any more. Especially in that kind of setting, which I don't think would have worked the same in front of a crowd. The swerve was the thing that would have worked for a crowd, better than in that setting.
Hopefully that truly is the last beat, I don't want to see them paired together ever again as opponents or partners, at least not for multiple years. shyt is like KO/Sami at this point. I also have no interest in another heel Johnny run, but he has NOTHING left to do in NXT and hasn't for a solid year now. However, a call up is instant death for his career. Ciampa can definitely have a good run on SD, but I think he still has room to grow and cook in NXT, unlike Johnny.
