Oh I think he just wanted a change of pace. Much like Mandy and Finn it can help to go back to NXT and find a new character or direction. That Nigerian Royalty phase could only last so long, especially now that Vince is gone. Even his "Commander Azeez" is back in NXT. Azeez has only been used at one Live Event that I know of, teaming with Cora Jade in a mixed tag match.
