2 of its members were arguably top 10 emcees all time
1 of its members is the greatest producer of all time
1 of its member started the whole independent rap label concept
3 of its members branched out and created movements of their own that were just as influential or close to
3 of its members introduced successful new artists into the game that made just as big an impact or close to
completely changed the landscape of hip hop into gangster rap
just off the fact that dre sprouted from nwa is enough to put them over wu
straight out of compton and nikkaz4life are better than any wu group album

Eazy died at the height of his popularity, ODB died well after Wu's peak. If, let's say Method Man, died in 1997 it would've been huge.
Regardless, Dre and Cube became legends for what they did after NWA. If either of them died directly after "Straight Outta Compton" it's a different story. Imagine how differently history would remember Cube if he had no solo discography, or if Dre died before working on "The Chronic".

Who are these 2 members you are referring to? Cube is undeniably one of the GOAT MC's of all time but Dre and Eazy never wrote a rhyme in their lives and Ren is not at the level.
A LOT of people believe RZA is the greatest producer of all time. He's definitely up there with Dre.
Most that other stuff you're talking about I won't even expound upon because it's either bullsh!t or irrelevant because it occurred WAY after NWA broke up.

That isn't the same as what you said though. Also not sure what "owned by a rapper" has to do with anything, Jerry Heller was making more money off NWA than any one not named Eazy.
If we're talking about independent rap labels blowing up, Def Jam is probably the prototype for that.
