This is the thing I always mention in those mass shooting threads. Just because you have a gun doesn't mean that you'll magically be able to assess the situation WHILE the bullets are already flying

The amount of training required to respond safely in such situations is intense. Yet we require nothing at all. In some states they require more safety instruction to cook cupcakes for your kid's classmates than they require to cosplay Die Hard.

Cats watch too many movies. Most of them haven't even defended themselves in a life-or-death situation with their weapon, but they think they'll have the poise and wherewithal to suppress a mass shooter. :mjlol:

For all the talk about rap indoctrinating youth, it's time to talk about how movies and video games have indoctrinated grown adults into thinking they can turn into The Equalizer whenever they want to.

Not gonna lie when I was a kid I fantasized about that shyt all the time. American culture really indoctrinates everyone into believing that violence is the ultimate answer for everything and the "good guys" will always carry it out perfectly.

Since this story has the ball rolling, let's also start the convo that guns incentivize reckless behavior. :sas2:

Because there's nothing that will bring bravery out of a coward than having a firearm at his side.

Guns don't stop crime, but they can damn sure lead to one.

That's the perfect saying to explain why "I just want to have the option, it doesn't mean I'll use it" doesn't work.

People without guns are thinking of ways to diffuse the situation. Even rational people with guns are distracted by the knowing that gun is on them and have to focus on whether they should pull or not.

It has folks thinking they can go on suicide missions and come out on top too. You got folks stocking guns just in case they gotta "go to war" with the police and military. :dahell:

There was a thread last night where dudes were talking about that. Just delusional.

Fraud militants saying that they are righteous like the OG Black Panther Party and can take down a police department if they have to. :mjlol:

Gun nuts are beyond delusional. You think the military doesn't prepare for these crazed citizens?

US military spending is astronomical, so much so that we spend more on our military than the next eight countries combined, but some randoms are gonna take them on.:mjlol:

Even when the Black Panthers got into a shootout with police, it ended disastrously.
