Eh,I'd say bethesdas fan base has a huge majority of casual gamers buying them. They sell millions. Its not like theyre even a more niche game like the souls series for example.no but I'm thinking far more casual games play games like COD.

Fallout 4 only sold 9% higher than fallout 3s release apparently. So that blockbuster status pre release didnt add much.Fallout isn't niche anymore, but this is the first time Fallout has been "blockbuster-casual" status pre-release. Black Ops has been "blockbuster-casual" since day one.
VGChartz isn't accurate, but it gives us a proxy of the "fanbase" level
BlackOps - 28.6 mil
BlackOps 2 - 28.65 mil
BlackOps 3 - 11.64 mil
Fallout 3 - 9.41 mil
Fallout: NV - 8.02 mil
Fallout 4 - 6.57 mil
So if we look at it, BOPS has a 28 mil target base and FO has a 9.5 mil target base assuming no huge growth. But, looking at the first month, Fallout is far ahead for it's own pace which is commensurate with all the pre-release hype, the heavy advertising, and the E3 hype.
If we assume BOPS is on a "normal" path to another 28, that means the first month returns of FO project to a new upper bound of 15 mil.
That being said, it just shows that even the most hyped pre-release of Fallout can only basically sell about half of Black Ops at the end of their runs.
God damn man. You know it's a new day when a fukking Halo game is already at number 8 on a sales chart the very next month.
nikka what? ps4 is the console for casuals. Every hood guy has a playstation, not an xboxThats why it was such a dumbass move. Xbox is a good console, but 90% of it's user base are just competitive FPS players or casuals who play the yearly update games like Madden and COD. Most real gamers are on PC and PS4
