:whew:

Good ass fukking song

But that one lyric is so fukking real. Probably the one I think about the most. Cause when you think about it hip-hop is a code. You can't be someone that doesn't know any slang and come in and understand what they're saying. Recently look at Pusha Ts verse on Mercy.

"That white frost on that pound cake so your Duncan Hines is irrelevant"

That gets played on the radio unedited cause people hear it and are like :why: why is he talking about cake.

So yeah there's the literal code to hip-hop, but deeper than that there's something too hip-hop that only some people can understand. That's why cacs can't get why Ross (if you hate ross cause you've been locked up I get it) is a good rapper, thats why people dont understand boosie is a good rapper, that's why they hate on guys like Chief Keef or Gucci. They think the only way to be smart is through academics or fancy wordplay. It's something you just get, and people can't decipher the code. It's not just those rappers but the culture as a whole. That's why people tried to clown dudes for sagging their pants, gangbanging, talking about killing people cause when they hear the music that's all they hear. They can't see through the lyrics and get what the person rapping is trynna say.

I applaud your efforts king, hopefully more of us start getting the whole picture. I don't think there's anymore genres we can create just to have it taken away. I think hip hop is the last frontier.

From earlier, probably a good foreshadowing of this thread:

Where I was going with this all these bloggers and posters that shyt on Ross or hipster that think if you don't rhyme every syllables and beat someone over the head with a message. It's like these magazines and blogs and twitter people try and say what's good when they just started listening to hip-hop in college.

Scarface is a good example of someone thats underrated cause they don't get him

As far as rapgenuis I don't take what they say as gospel. I come up with my own interpretation but I do hear regional slang in songs that I gotta find out what they mean. I also take their definition and see how it compares to mine.

real shyt, but after hip hop there will be another genre. Black creativity is limitless.

True

I always thought it was funny how black people get hated on so much but then everyone follows their lead when it comes to new music.

At least with the internet the music from Europe was spread over here and so I see a lot of casual fans leaving and going to something more trendy
