comedy in general is hit or miss, its so subjective and random. theirs a reason standups try new material out in small clubs before big venues, nobody knows how an audience will react.

for example one of snls most famous skits, the cowbell skit. in dress rehearsals the skit bombed. will ferrell changed his shirt so it was too small and the rest is history. thats how thin the line is.

I know they got too much pride to kill it... but it may be time.

Some of their shyt be so unfunny it makes me cringe and feel uncomfortable..

The writing is horrible 4 times out of 5 and the comedians aren't even that funny

Hader was one of the few funny ones they had and he is leaving... they either need to bring in a whole new crop or wrap it up b

SNL will keep going as long as Lorne Michaels is alive.

First of all, SNL still has major high points and depending on the guest, the show delivers.

Secondly, even in a rebuild, they're finding people now.

Pedrad I think stays
Taran Killam is gonna get a major push and he's always been funny
Moynihan is the truth
Jay Pharoah has been disappointing overall but he'll get more of a push
McKinnon should get promoted already.

Cecily Strong's gonna be a dominant figure going forward. That broad got next.

It all depends on who they pick up, and whenever SNL has to rebuild with a bunch of new characters, most of them turn out to be the new wave of comedians.

I remember Chris Rock talking bout it's hard trying out new material in small clubs since so many people like to record it on their cell phones and post it on youtube for all to see. So it's harder in this day and age to get a hit with brand new material that nobody has seen without spoilers.
