I did that same shoulder nap once in NYC. 
I was tired as hell and I slept on the shoulder of this West Indian lady coming back from Brooklyn. I didn't realize what I was doing until our stop came up. She just let me sleep. I thought it was b/c she was a mom and nice but maybe it's a NY thing.
