I don't even know anymore...
And you can hate ND all you want, (I know all of y'all do), but you gotta respect their scheduling integrity. Good article by Wetzel on the subject.

People dont realize how irrelvant college basketball is not just in money making for the ncaa but populraity in general the ratigns are hideous
The tourney makes money but thats mostly from people doing pools and shyt who dotn watch the sport the ratigns for the tourney arent as good as the hype the tourney gets
it's the actual programs that take a hit. Look at Wake Forest, BC, they're dead now in basketball. Same thing will happen to Pitt, even Syracuse will become a meh team in the ACC. It waters down the conference.
ND was a bum deal for the Big East, and they will be a bum deal for the ACC.
They're gonna have their own plate of food, and still eat off your plate.
and they're gonna steal a bowl game when they go 6-6!
Y'all can wish upon a star that they'll be a full member like we did, but when an entire conference caters to you, there's no need to question independence.
And if Louisville gets left out...with a solid football program, a top basketball team, and successful Olympic sports
That's because of horrible coach hirings. After Skip Prosser ( ), Wake went to shyt. BC I dunno what the fukk they doing.
Syracuse, Pitt and ND will be fine in hoops. NC State looks like they are getting their shyt together hoops wise. UVA and Maryland the same. Even Wake looks to be on their way back too.
The Big East about to crumble.
And please believe Louisville about to bolt anywhere they can. shyt is at those Big East Offices in Providence.
Pitt will suck in hoops because they don't play ACC-style basketball. Syracuse will suck because they'll actually need to recruit something better than 5'10'' forwards from Niagara Falls. Both schools simply have to ramp up their recruiting and style of play to make it and I don't think they can. The only schools that could switch and not affect them much in basketball are Louisville and Connecticut (and that's only if Ollie can pick up where Calhoun left off).
Also, going to the ACC will water the schools down in terms of their records and how they play. Meanwhile, this opens the door for St. John's, Georgetown, Nova to dominate in basketball. They can literally guarantee incoming recruits a tourney bid every year. Syracuse, Pitt, ND can no longer reassure kids of that, just like what happened to Wake, Maryland, BC, and NC State.

Wake didnt replace Prosser, NC State was out the loop long before expansion and they fell off because they didnt have their house in order... BC and Maryland are teh only two you can say that about and in Maryland's case Gary stopped recruiting.
NC State's biggest problem was not just coaching, but they couldn't keep recruits. They recruited the rawest talents only to see them leave either for the pros or because they acted up.
Prosser didn't get replaced, but Wake stopped recruiting. Bzdelik I think can help them, but they have nothing of value since Teague/Johnson/Aminu dipped.
Now, even if they regain respectability, they'll be in that cluster of teams that will beat up each other. The difference between the Big East and the ACC is that for as many good teams as the Big East had, they had DePaul to eat off of.
