1st Round Playoff Exits
Besides not owning our picks til like '29, I don't think we're searching for direction

Keep developing Claxton, Bridges, Cam Johnson, actually play Cam Thomas, either use PHX/DAL picks and get a guy or keep the books open for another upset star to come. You're not directionless if you don't win the trophy only one team can do that
If we get Bridges we're also getting Claxton.

You must of been smoking that za when you came up with these trades :mjlol:

Nets are not trading Mikal, we’re not rebuilding.
:childplease:

Tf else you gon do :heh:

3 superstars just walked out the door under bad circumstances, they ain’t signing any notable free agents any time soon

You trade Bridges immediately, his value can’t get any higher. You get younger and recoup some picks…or become the wizards and watch him turn 30 in the blink of an eye and you wasted his prime and all his value

Y’all got the nerve to clown meanwhile y’all co-signing this. Man said ‘develop’, Cam Johnson is 27! :laff: Bridges is 26. Tfoh

Nets need to trade both immediately . We’ve seen this situation before: Team with guys not good enough to raise their own team’s profile, but players who are individually valuable to contenders. Nets actually have quite a few of these types of players Joe Harris, Royce O’Neal, DFS, even dinwiddie. All these guys need to be traded ASAP before their value drops. Ie Orlando waited about 2,3 years too late to trade Terence ross

Keep in mind on top of no picks and minimal youthful assets, the Nets miraculously have no cap space either :snoop:

The play here is take advantage of contenders who are willing to pay a premium

It’s NYC, there’s no time to rebuild. Only reason we had to rebuild all those years was because we had no assets. We have a boatload of assets today that we can use to get what we need. We also have a 18 million dollar trade exception to burn. They want to compete in the near future

that's mainly because of Ben. Most of these deals are all gone in 2 years, not as if they're gonna do anything with that space anyway.

I do agree on getting rid of the clusterfukk of role players though.

The biggest issue Brooklyn has is how to set up a bright future for themselves without giving the Rockets a better future. Sure, they could trade Bridges for a Scoot, but Scoot and Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas are gonna lose 55-60 games a year which only benefits the Rockets

then what is Houston doing?
already rumors bout harden heading over and jaylen being dangled... harden likes playing with elite pgs.. ? fill out rest of roster with 3 and d players and rim runners.. looking at houston payroll might be tough to match dames salary though

As the saying goes beggars can’t be choosers.

Yea it would really suck to essentially give the rockets a layup top pick, but you also dont want to be stagnant just for that purpose.

Scoot projects as the type of player that once you have him and people see him and he’s talk of the league etc, everyone forgets the circumstances around it. Ie no one cares that the chiefs and Texans gave up a firsts for Mahomes and Watson.

But forget all that….they’re gonna be that bad ANYWAY :heh: That decent finish with this group was fools gold

I thought of this scenario and yep there is no way to clear salary without trading literally all of the youth

I’d be cool with them trading ONE of their youngins for a win-now player, but not ALL of their youngins

I don't get why people think the Nets want to trade Bridges and it's always to a contender

Probably one the best returns for a superstar ever, in a big market, cap looks good, are they just not even supposed to try and be contenders themselves :heh:
Ngga…

WITH WHO?!?!

When was the last time a star player was traded to a team NOT of his own choosing ?! Kawhi? And it was for one season. It’s not happening in todays game. And we of course know no player is asking to go to BK or going as a FA. So Contender where? How?

What they’ll actually do is create a treadmill squad maybe get a 7,8 seed at best then you’ll look up and Bridges is 30.
