All of this. When this song first dropped, my family had just lost the house I grew up in and the old stomping grounds and landmarks I knew were all changing so rapidly. This song used to really get me in my feels. Nas borders Ghostface for me in that regards in his ability to bring out deep emotions with his pen game. This track and "My Way" both used to have me just reflecting on the past and the reluctance of letting go and moving on in life when entering adulthood.

The original I Am was gearing up to be better than Illmatic. I've been saying that since '98 and I still feel like that. But Lost Tapes, Illmatic and IWW are the Top 3 untouchable Nas joints. You can't go wrong with those. That's all day.
