Them and Housemarque are basically first party studios without actually having to buy them. Unless they have big plans for the studio (like expanding them significantly) there is no need to buy them.

Buying Bluepoint would allow Bluepoint to up their production values, team size, etc.
They could start making new IPs along with remakes
I predict Sony will acquire and merge a couple of 2nd party studios

I think they will probably buy them, I'm just pointing out that it's really not needed unless they have big plans for them (like making them a two game studio) - they just need to contract them for more PS exclusives.
