the commercial they had last year with the cats waiting in line was way better. I got the iphone 4 now, but i have a feeling apple is gonna crush the buildings with the 5s. at least thats what im hoping for
Crush the buildings with what exactly? iOS is so outdated in 2013. Seriously its the 3rd OS in terms of features at this point with WP8 coming strong

Hmm... really? Bullying? Damn.

I think it's far from bullying, because when you think about it, every high end Android device trumps the iPhone in the features department. Yet, the only 1 that is highly recognizable right now is the Galaxy line. That's because they're the only ones who advertise those features and how you would use them in real situations.

I would say it's more of educating the viewer on what the phone can do, and what the competition can't do. I don't see that as bullying. It's bold, but it's effective and a hell of a lot better than the old dumbass Motorola commercials that used to actually list specs out like the casual user gave a fukk about that.

:dead:

it makes people who have iphones want the samsung phone even if they didnt really need the features at all

but like Ive said, it's a genius commercials from marketing point of view, I dont deny that but...

*puts on lecture glasses*

its summer time- no school (grad party), party, hot weather, pool, ribs, broads in bikinis :whew: so here we have increased quality of life, fun associated with the product right away.

next, all the iphone users are potrayed as either old or less atractive compared to corresponding android users

also, in fact, it tries to say that iphone is either an older generation product or a phone for less educated/less smart people

is the commercial great and genius ? yes. it shyts on iphone users, and makes them think that getting a samsung would make their lives less miserable and that they absolutely need these features to look better and cooler to others :manny:

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
Or they can just hold a solidly built iPhone in one hand, and a plastic Samsung in the other. Then decide that they want quality over specs. The average consumer doesn't care how many gb of RAM or how many cores the CPU has. And they especially don't care about changing the TV with their phone or waving their hands to move pages. Simplicity and build quality. The iPhone wins both.

People who post in The Arcadium and on Engadget and on Gizmodo and on XDA AREN'T the average consumer. nikkas are posting in a fish bowl :heh: confusing reality with the reality of the situation.

Imagine car enthusiasts saying that everyone who buys a Camry is a sheep because Camry's sell well, are quality built, easy to drive, and have ok power.

And lastly, I can't understand for the life of me how the same people who have the preference of "I'll never buy an iPHONE!!!!1!" can be mad about someone never wanting to buy an Android phone.

expandable memory is important :manny: to me at least. Most people with iPhones hide the "build" with cases so they all hide the "quality" build. You're basically saying iPhone is dope because its the hottest eye candy. I hate that the Iphone is restrictive when it comes to music and being forced to use itunes and I hate that it doesn't have expandable memory. Apps don't matter as Android has caught up so its really about user experience. Which phone offers better user experience?

i saw some gimmick where you swipe ya hand over the phone to answer it. that shyt looks good in a commercial but in real life it's a potential disaster. answering a phone unintentionally and havin the receiver listen to ya convo is never a good thing.

Yeah but that can easily be disabled. All those features can be disabled.

it depends on what type of user you are. apples restrictiveness in everything is one of major reasons I dont really fukk with iphones

and thats the thing. for most of these casual/average users, theyre not gonna use those features more than like once a month or something. how many times you actually finna use that swipe feature ?

truth is at this point there arent many life or death features that you just HAVE to have that are present on one system and absent on others...maybe expandable storage and flash aside :smugbiden: but flash is a pain to deal with after jelly bean.

Exactly. Samsung has been hammering that point on the head since they started these with the GS3. The iPhone is for old people who don't know any better. The iPhone users in their commercials are portrayed as either old parents or ignorant hipsters who don't have a clue as to why they want an iPhone besides knowing that it's an "iPhone"

:dead:

I've never had a Samsung phone, but I can't hate on the angle they've been running with.

I have an HTC One. Rooted with an unlocked bootloader. Now that I've figured out how to manage the battery it could possibly be the best phone I've ever owned. Right behind the original Bold 9000 (consider that time period as context).

I had one iPhone or another for the last 3+ years. I'll honestly say that Google Play has apps that are capable of more (especially on rooted devices) but they aren't up to par with the iOS offering.

I've already gotten a bunch of buggy apps with no on screen menu's (the HTC One doesn't have a dedicated menu button), so basically they do nothing unless i emulate a button press with yet another App. or install a mod. That shyt would never fly in the iOS App store. a lot of apps are crashing, causing wave locks, sucking up resources and a bunch that aren't even compatible with my brand new device (MaxGo and CreditKarma off the top of my head).

I've been able to get around most of this (sideloading, wavelock apps, etc). But I had to work at it. And most of the good managing apps require a root. Getting a decent battery life requires work too. Not so with the iPhone. So ya I'm getting the best Android experience but a beginner to novice user will get more out of the iPhone than they would an Android device.

I can see myself not going back to the iPhone if Apple doesn't step it's game up with the iPhone 5s/6 and iOS 7. I'm going to stick to iOS on my iPad though. GoodReader is an App that I can't do without and there is no Android equivalent.

That's just my opinion.

200+ million iOS devices sold to date. Might have even cracked 3.

That's a lot of old people and hipsters. :bryan: the logic of fanboys.
