This map showed places with largest European population in darkest color in southern Brazil. Conversely, Northeast Brazil is much more Afrocentric/Black-ish ethnically, with 60% - 70% black-ish range in light purple.

Not sure when this map was made, but probably when Brazil had around 200 million people range.
So 28% of 200 million is 56 million.
  • If upwards of 70% of the 56 million people bin Northeast Brazil are Afrocentric/Black-ish ethnically, then around 39.2 million Afrocentric Portuguese speaking people live in this one region of Brazil.

Comparison:
  • Haiti 10 milliom
  • Jamaica 4 million
  • U.S. 48 million
  • Colombia 5 million

My girl’s family are all from Bahia...apparently their Carnival in Salvador is next level. I wanna visit but looks like that won’t happen for a minute.
I went to Sao Paulo's Carnival this year and i had planned to go to Rio's next year but i will take a look at Salvador as well.

How was São Paulo breh? I’m in between taking the family to Colombia (Medellin and Bogota) or Brazil (Sao Paulo and Rio). I was leaning toward Colombia because my wife’s first language is Spanish and it’d be more convenient for us (I speak Spanish too).

But if Brazil is worth it, we’d go there instead.
