I was born in '89, by the time I was born there were already Bloods and Crips in Little Rock (been there since '82 is what they say; allegedly the first place outside California to have B/C culture). I've also heard that places like Pittsburgh and St Louis had em in the 80s...

By the time I was going to Weemes Elementary in LA in the mid-late 90s, they were already out here in NC; NY Bloods hit the Durham and Raleigh area in '96. NY itself has had em since the early 90s and Fayetteville NC supposedly had the first ones in NC, going back to the early 90s as well...

I'm young enough that by the time I was a kid growing up in LA there were already Bloods and Crips all the way across the country. I guess my point is that, you're in your early 40s, right? They were already everywhere when you were coming up, if you were older or were making this statement decades ago it would make more sense...

People your age and my age, grew up in times where Crips and Bloods were everywhere else. My parents are old school Sacramento Bloods, for people they age (dad 55, mom 58) when they were growing up, there weren't Bloods and Crips in most of these places...

Plus, from the very beginning the OG Crips mission statement was "Crips dont die, we multiply" the shyt was never meant to stay in LA, they intentionally spread that shyt like wildfire
