Then you should KNOW. You've established your diverse CIRCLE, but the social fabric there is not cosmopolitan by a long shot.

If you are comparing Raleigh to NYC or Los Angeles or San Fran you might have a point but to say lack of diversity n Raleigh then compare Gboro and Charlotte and say they are more diverse, Gboro is not more diverse than Raleigh. Charlotte might be better simply cuz it's a financial town.

I meant the state as a whole. Raleigh is basically the epicenter within the college mecca of NC, so they would have a little diversity there, but still not like major cities you mentioned.

..and outside of Charlotte and Greensboro I didn't find them too friendly either. Stereotypically, you would think people who live in the country would be, but I guess not. Not very nice, maybe only nice to people with southern accents I guess, but if you speak proper english or have an accent the black people are mean and whites split between indifference or friendliness(if they're not too rural minded). People in Georgia and South Carolina were friendly though.

I just found them nikkas to be extra OD annoying. nikkas running around acting like that shyt the bees knees, but it's like y'all nikkas clearly ain't never been no where. Like my state and city we cocky too, but we don't run around talking shyt about GA being a top 5 state or ATL being right behind a NY, LA, Chicago or even DC. We love our city but we know it's not none of those things. We a country ass state with a big ass city in it with bad traffic, horrible subway system, fake ass wanna be rappers, and shytty ass sports teams. I'll beat my chest repping my town till the cows come home. But you'll never see me on the homer shyt these nikkas be on.

you are comparing a mid sized city of about 400,000 (about 1 million if you combine Raleigh, Durham Chapel Hill) to cities with 8 million people, 6 million people and the Bay Area which is 7 million. Thats not a fair assessment

I have lived many places. I got one of my degrees in Raleigh(lived in Charotte a few summers). I know what I'm talking about. Youre not used to the same level of cultural diversity as people who are NOT from NC, so it seems real diverse to you. It's all perpsective. Compared to other places the state is still a cultural desert(which is why there are no large scale cultural events, a few small scale ones on college campuses for students if anything). It may change in the near future, but right now it's still dry to someone who did not grow up in that environment.

Every place doesnt have to be super diverse to be enjoyable, nor does it necessarily make it a better place. With that said, NC has passed the 10 million resident mark, and will become more diverse regardless.

Enjoyable is subjective. When you live somewhere where all the majority have group think and have similar last names it's somewhat homogenous. To each their own.

I was talking about the state as a whole. Even if you want to compare to smaller cities. I found Ann Arbor Michigan and Austin Texas to be more culturally open cities than a Durham, Asheville, or Winston Salem. There's a strong cultural current in NC that doesn't embrace a different culture, even if it's another American culture. I think it's still a good ole boy state, maybe that's why.

:lolbron: you might be on to something. I noticed that too, was different in other states like Louisiana or Florida where there's more of a quiet confidence as opposed to putting their mouth on everything.

What's the best food spots in Greensboro /Winston

Depends on what you're into. Smaller local spots Greensboro has

Hopps Burger Bar

Dames Chicken and Waffles

Emma Keys

Then you got Stephanies (soul food spot)

Downtown has some funky spots like Crafted

For upscale ish there's Leblons Home
Steak Street in High Point is real good. Also Print Works at the Proximity Hotel and chains like Ruth's Chris.
