He was out there and had a following but he wasn't the hottest.

He did make it cool not needing to flex his album label in every song like the majority of rappers in '98 did.

NORE made music for the savages :ehh:

We're just some thug people (That's what we are)
That's what we are, trying hard to change the way we live
:ohlawd:

The Greekfest in Philly that summer was a movie!
:ahh:

I’ll never forget the freestyle session with Nore, Dmx, and canibus. D and Nore got smoked that night though.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
This thread is the primary reason why i understand the mods stopped allowing new members to join.

This is OUR version of I Am Athlete.

Except... I AM POSTER is our rendition.

But i didn't give my take, NORE didn't start getting hot on this side of the coast until Superthug hit airwaves and video outlets (and that was September 98).

If you were tuned into to MTV that summer and remembering seeing DMX performing at a concert where his stage was a boxing ring... you knew he had it on lock. Master combo.

In terms of 1998... DMX from Memorial Day until New Years Eve OWNED the streets and the planet.

Even the little white girls on TRL were screaming when he was on. Carson Daly knew what time it was. Daily.

I've been giving him that summer for years now. Not the craziest take imo. I might be biased tho...:sas2:

That list though :mjcry:

I was still using tapes in 98, was getting ready to move to CDs

Nore definitely put in work after Capone was locked to keep the CNN brand alive.

This was a good feature too

"Hottest rapper in 98"???

X
Kast
LL
Jay
Meth
Kim
Fox
'Bis
Mase
Cam
Juvie
Even Puffy

-Some so-called 'flunkie' dropped some album called "Heavy Mental" that year, too

-Some nikka wit a buzz named Curtis got shot tf up, dropped from his label, seemingly ruining his career

-And Snoop was the biggest Free Agent in the game

Victor trippin', but that was the only time he was dope(97-98).

Add Silk The Shocker who actually beat him out at the Source Awards

Not even the best Puerto Rican rapper in 98, as Big Pun was dropping heat in 98 like crazy.

Neptunes really getting into their groove/finding their sound that year was huge.

No Limit was at its apex of not just releasing album after album... but they were quality discs as well.

It was also a great year for commercial R&B as well.

Are You That Somebody was all over the radio.

Next with Too Close

Brand and Mon with Boy Is Mines

and you a DAMNED LIAR if you wasn't watcing TRL after school. Don't lieds to me, mofo.

Shiit was heat.

.
:mjcry: good times breh.
