That was actually the answer I thought of originally. Puerto Ricans are largely viewed by blacks as being allies, so they enjoy the benefits of black led movements and acceptance by blacks regardless of what they do.

But the interesting thing about that is that most people (of all races) don't seem to view Puerto Ricans as black, unless they're visually indistinguishable from the average AA.

I would guess that they're no more or less racist on average than heterosexual cacs, they're just white people with a different sexual orientation.
