Because we live around each other and coexist in places like NYC, New Jersey, upstate New York, Connecticut, etc. I don't have a problem with them at all but at the same time I don't view them as being "allies" collectively, we have similarities but also differences. Yeah, it almost seems like desperation for acceptance from another group. While nobody should be killing each other or anything like that, we should worry about ourselves first and judge everyone else on a case by case basis.

If black Americans want to see our future with a Latino majority all we have to do is look at the greater Miami metropolitan area. Latinos run that metro area and blacks are marginalized and completely socioeconomically/politically disenfranchised. The same has happened in SoCal. Try getting a job in certain areas without being bilingual. Blacks are completely locked out of jobs for not speaking.
