I agree but surely u mean inception right?

I thought Inception had a good concept but a very conventional and frankly boring execution. They make a big deal about dreaming inside dreams and the limitless potential within said dreamworlds, but in the end most of it boiled down to standard shoot outs and a James Bond-esque ski chase we've seen in plenty movies before. It's essentially a heist movie, albeit a heist movie with a high concept and a whole of pretensions to make the high concept seem deeper than it is. I always felt TDK was a bit too talky for its own good, but it pales in comparison to Inception which can't go three minutes without explaining what's going on and why it's so deep. It's the anti-thesis of "Show, don't tell". It's "Tell and tell and tell". The whole movie went like:

This is a memory of my wife, let me explain my entire character arc to you while we are watching my character arc.

Watch a van drop in slow-motion.

I can create a stairway that ends up in the same place. It's called a paradox. I'm telling you this so when we show you this exact situation five minutes later, you already know exactly how it will play out because I have told you. Then when it happens, I will say "paradox" for no other reason than to remind you that this was a thing that I explained to you earlier, in case you forgot.

Watch a van drop in slow-motion.

Here is a five minute explanation of how totems work. It really only matters for the end when I make my top spin so we can have a forced ambiguous ending. Be grateful I didn't pick a totem that would instantly reveal whether it's a dream or not like the chess piece, because it would really kill the ambiguousness of the ending.

Why won't this van stop dropping in slow-motion?

:ehh: valid. he did kind of limit himself when you take into account the options are unlimited if its a dream world

cant wait to watch this once, really like it... forget about it for a couple weeks, read about it on the internet, see fanboys going insane over it, like it a little less, then never watch it again.

Nolan is the best at making "one and done" view movies on the planet. i watched TDK twice, but even that suffered the 2nd time around. ill never even consider watching TDKR or Inception again
