Hama was the stronghold of the Ikhwan, which at the time was waging a sectarian jihadi rebellion against the regime and the dictator in typical fashion, responded with unspeakable brutality. the Ikhwan thought by baiting al-Asad to commit a massacre, they could spur the Sunni majority to join their holy struggle against the Alawite kaffir and establish an Emirate in Syria just like Allah intended. but it didn't work then just like it isn't working now.
that along with the Tel al-Zaatar massacre (when he colluded with the Maronites to slaughter Palestinians) are unforgivable crimes. I only wish there was a hell for Hafez to burn in.
So Hafez killed Palestinians, a group that the majority of posters here care more about than backs, and you are all still cheering for the Assad?
