(Reuters) - France said on Thursday that the international community would need to respond with force if allegations that Syrian government forces had carried out a mass chemical attack on civilians proved to be true.

"There would have to be reaction with force in Syria from the international community, but there is no question of sending troops on the ground," Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said on French television network BFM.

He added that if the U.N. Security Council could not make a decision, one would have to be taken "in other ways." He did not elaborate.

I swear fo gawd this civil war is the most confusing event I've ever attempted to follow

at the top of my list was always the Palestine v Israel conflict....but this right here....

the confusion has completely numbed my ability to be emotional or indifferent

There is nothing confusing about this, it's pretty much straight forward and to the point. Read "Which Path to Persia?" By the Brooking Institution how to destroy countries with paid oppositions, assassinations, coups, economic sanctions and humanitarian intervention. I put this on Sohh like 2 years ago and still people don't read.

The clowns behind the Project for A New American Century were not hiding their agenda. They spelled out their desire for US global dominance back in the 1990s, its just that no one was paying attention to how so many of them ended up in positions of power in the Bush Admin. http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm

The interesting thing about this Syria story is what the US response will be. Obama made a very public declaration that the line in the sand for US involvement was if Assad used chemical weapons against his own people and now that it is being reported that he has what is the next move for Obama and the United States?

Broke Wave, the next time I ask for your opinion, I'll call on you...until then get your facts straight or sit down. You clearly have no clue in what you are talking about.

you're the one who's not arguing with facts

care to elaborate a bit more...

the level of disinformation, fabrication and outright lies being pumped out by both the regime and opposition is unprecedented in world history ( the rebels however, have the advantage being backed by Western and Gulf/Oil media).

there's only one underlying truth: the Syrian people have suffered a great deal and will continue to suffer.
