Feinstein was seriously the worst. That woman made San Francisco unaffordable for any middle or working class family. Her hatred for Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys was hilarious though. Acted like a mob boss around that band

This dude was a real piece of shyt. The cops should’ve let the crowd carry out vigilante justice. Raping and murdering old women, kidnapping kids, dude never should’ve been allowed to die of natural causes.

I watched the whole thing Saturday morning after a Starbucks run.

I appreciated how they focused on the full breadth of how evil Ramirez was. In most things about him they tend to shy away from the child rapist aspect but that was just as disgusting as all the other atrocities the guy committed. Totally understood why the DA decided not to include those crimes in his charges too. Those kids having to testify in court would have been just a second way for them to be victimized.

And I wasn't expecting the doc to be quite so graphic with the crime scene pics. I understand why some family members found that to be too much.

Loved how that neighborhood basically split his wig open and would've killed him dead in the streets if the cops didn't show up.

I also fully expect Hollywood to come calling for the rights to make a movie/TV show about the two detectives who worked the case too.

I do wish they had spent a bit more time on the crazy women who became fixated on him because that twisted a psychology fascinates me. How can you be attracted to someone like that? That would be an interesting topic for a separate documentary: serial killer groupies.

Like why?

Jello was a super lefty politically and saw Feinstein (who had been acting mayor at the time due to the murder of Mayor Harvey Milk) as being a major part of the corruption in the city (which she was) that had turned San Fran from a hippie haven to a city full of urban blight.

So Jello decided to run for mayor too as a troll job of Feinstein. He spent the majority of his campaign attacking her and doing public stunts to embarrass her.
Jello and another fringe candidate ended up getting enough votes to force Feinstein (who he had taken to calling "Frankenfeinstein" during his campaign) into a run-off with the Republican candidate which also didn't make him any friends at city hall once Feinstein finally won and became mayor.

When his friend is refusing to give his name but then he is about to get punched by the cop, so he puts his hands up to protect himself and shouts Richard Ramirez! Richard Ramirez!. Then the episode ends
