from the NFC favorites to the worst team in the NFC playoffs all within a month... cant lie, im loving this underdog feeling
dudes really talking like we have NO SHOT at all, as if we dont have the best pass rush in the league by far (in terms of generating pressure)
bum ass freeman and coleman not gettin off on this run defense neither
im liking our chances more and more as each day goes by
please give us an at least average game foles... also this game will tell us a lot about doug pederson who im still not sold on yet. carson led the nfl in tight window throws this season by far. WRs arent getting open as much as we might think they are which is why foles is struggling. just like how mcvay schemes all these open receivers for goff, we need to see something similar from pederson this weekend
Offensively,
Now im starting to look back on it with that Raiders game. I really don't care about the final game because Foles wasn't in there all game, throwaway game, and it was really cold.
And granted Foles made a few bad throws and decisions in that raiders game
But we havent really called out Fole's teammates in that game. They have made Foles job more difficult too many times with those third and long in that game. Foles is not Wentz who can mask those 3rd and long issues with his ability to extend plays.
Nick Foles is gonna have to make good throws and limit the turnovers but everyone on offense need to play clean and do their jobs. For example, none of those inopportune holding calls by Lane Johnson, no drops by Alshon, Agholor, Torrey and Ertz. Third and 6 or less should be a consistent thing for us to win this one convincingly
Another thing I noticed Big V has been struggling for several weeks now starting with that seahawks game against Frank Clark. Nothing we can do about Big V but Wiz being back on the left side healthy should help a bit with that. Beasley, Clayborn, and McKinley are situational pass rushers so sending a tight end and a running back occassionally to chip in passing downs could help with that.
The other key to the game, Atlanta is gonna stack the box early to force Foles to throw. If Foles makes his throws, manageable third downs, and the receiver make the easy catches early. Atlanta gotta unload the box by the third quarter. I think we can really expose them in the run game in the second half. Atlanta's front seven is a weird mix of big and slow & fast and small.
We want Blount and Ajayi to get to their second level. Deion Jones is hella of a player but he is really small for a middle linebacker. We want to run the ball at him consistently, he gonna naturally crack with the running backs we have and the run style they have. Time of possession in the second half is gonna be key. We gonna need to run it to close out this game.
Right now Foles is like Jared Goff ( in the sense that Goff cant extend plays like Wentz) and the Falcons didn't even break the brakes off the Ram. Pharaoh Cooper really handed them that game with his special teams miscues. The rams also threw the ball way too much.
We can win this, the falcons were the best team matchup wise we could have drawn of the nfc playoff teams. Defense havent really had a bad game at home all year. This game is definitely winnable.
